MADE OF AMBITION / THE PUBLICATION

The story.
The source.

A useful biography makes its evidence available and keeps the person’s own account in context.

Building a biographical account.

Profiles draw on company records, official biographies, first-person interviews and published reporting. Numbered references connect the narrative to the material behind it, while biographical references accompany personal details.

A company statement records what that company says. Personal accounts describe a person’s own perspective. Claims about results, wealth or reach retain the qualifications supported by the cited material.

Details with their limits intact.

Unconfirmed personal details remain labelled as reported or not publicly established. A missing birthplace or current residence is left unresolved. Dates and business roles should be read in the context of their source record.

The collection focuses on professional journeys, business development and the work people choose to pursue. Inclusion is a subject selection, and does not imply an interview, endorsement or recommendation.

Photographs and their sources.

Photographs and interview stills are presented with their original source credits. Images may be resized or cropped to fit the reading experience. A photograph’s appearance here does not imply that its subject took part in an interview with this publication.

Where a Creative Commons licence applies, the relevant licence is linked beside the image. Other credits identify the original photographer, publisher or source.

Keeping the record useful.

A material correction should follow the evidence and update the affected reference as well as the text. Minor spelling changes and layout adjustments do not establish a new reporting date.

Readers can use the linked sources to explore an account further and check subsequent developments in an entrepreneur’s career.
