Finding an audience before a boxing ring

Jake Paul first became known through videos on Vine, then developed a larger publishing presence on YouTube. Short sketches and longer vlogs put him in front of an audience before boxing became the centre of his professional work.

Acting formed another early part of his career. He appeared in the Disney Channel series Bizaardvark, alongside his own online publishing. Those experiences placed performance, production and the visibility of an individual personality close together.

A change of profession in public

Paul's move into boxing began with an amateur contest in 2018, followed by a professional debut in 2020. Training and competition became ongoing commitments rather than occasional subjects for an entertainment channel.

His audience could follow the transition as it happened. That visibility created interest, but a bout still required a separate sporting and commercial operation: opponents, contracts, a venue, production and distribution. Boxing introduced Paul to a business extending well beyond his own performance.

Building a promotion with Nakisa Bidarian

In 2021, Paul and Nakisa Bidarian co-founded Most Valuable Promotions. The company's official account describes a business organized around live events, talent development and the promotion of fighters. Paul became both a competitor and a founder working within the sport.

The partnership separated some of the responsibilities involved. A promotion needs commercial planning and relationships around a roster, rather than a schedule built solely around its most recognizable athlete. MVP made that broader role part of Paul's business identity.

Making the event a media product

A boxing event exists in a venue and through the coverage around it. Interviews, training material and promotional storytelling can make a contest familiar before the opening bell. Paul's background in creator publishing gives that activity an obvious connection with his earlier career.

MVP explicitly identifies digital storytelling as part of its mission. The company's work therefore joins event production with ongoing communication about fighters. Attention supports the event, while the event supplies the main product around which that attention is organized.

A roster beyond the founder

MVP's public activity includes the promotion of established and emerging boxers, including women in the sport. Its company materials describe developing talent and giving fighters greater creative involvement in their careers.

The roster gives the promotion work beyond its co-founder's own contests. Its programme of events introduces other athletes and gives their professional development an ongoing place within the business.

The creator and the promoter

Paul's development illustrates a route from a personal entertainment audience into a more specialized enterprise. His public career remains connected to performance, but the product has changed from a video upload to a sporting event with participants, partners and operational obligations.
